Homebrew Industrial Revolution

Kevin Carson, a noted market anarchist, wrote an excellent book titled Homebrew Industrial Revolution: A Low-Overhead Manifesto. It is a mix of some politics, some economics, some history, and a lot of high-level practical information. Figuring out the low-level details is largely left as an exercise for the reader, though some resources for that are indicated in the book.

It is largely about highly distributed forms of industrial manufacture and trade, focused on small-scale production whose efficiency should in fact outstrip the "economies of scale" so often touted as the key reason we "need" centralized corporate industries. Carson does a good job of explaining many of the reasons that the commonly accepted economies of scale are not nearly as economical as generally believed.
